- To comprehend and integrate the guiding assumptions and methods of the Work That Reconnects. This Work is designed to prepare us to take part in the Great Turning, to seize this historical moment to act on behalf of life for the sake of all beings and for future generations. The 30 day event, Seeds for the Future II, is based on the Work that Reconnects, and will serve those participants who wish to become facilitators.
- To acquire conceptual tools for understanding and navigating this moment in history. Gaining familiarity with systems theory, we aim to apply it to the dynamics at play in the Great Turning from the industrial growth society to a life sustaining society.
- To enlarge our vision and capacity for the part we each can play in the Great Turning to a life-sustaining society. Assessing our particular gifts and life situations, we aim to discern the steps we want to take and the seeds we want to plant for a viable future.
- To expand the temporal context of our lives. Stepping aside from the demands and speed of the industrial growth society, we aim to attune our minds and bodies to longer ecological rhythms and strong felt connections with past and future generations.
- To perceive more keenly and open more fully to the beauty of the natural world and our mutual belonging in the web of life. Through deep ecology practices and solo times in the wild, we aim to let Gaia, our living Earth, become more real to us as guide and ground of being.
- To enrich our vitality and understanding through art and drama. Through music, song, theater games, spontaneous rituals, and materials provided for painting and fabric work, we aim to discover and express the life living through us.
- To activate and deepen our spiritual life. Through group meditations and individual quiet times, as well as thematic discussion and guidance, we aim to enhance our awareness of the sacred, and to open to the call of life as mediated in our respective religious traditions.
