For a complete lunar cycle of autumn 2007, we will gather to prepare ourselves to engage more fully in the Great Turning. This essential adventure of our time is the transition from the industrial growth society to a life-sustaining society, a revolution affecting every aspect of our lives. Immersed in the wild beauty of the Oregon coast where the Salmon River flows into the Pacific, we will open to our deep interconnectedness with all life-forms and the power it provides to take part in the healing of our world.
Days of silence and solitude in Camp Westwind's 500 acres of wildnerness beach, river front, and upland forests and meadows, will punctuate our work together. Based on the Work That Reconnects, our interactive sessions will include systems theory, Gaia theory, and cognitive analyses of the global crises we face, as well as role plays and spiritual practices for fostering strength and courage. Days devoted to art and drama will catalyze our spontaneous and synergistic creativity. Lunar and deep time rituals will let us see our lives within the panorama of humanity's journey and feel the presence of the ancestors and the future generations. Through regular, smaller "home groups," as well as optional personal counseling, we will further seize this rare opportunity to review our life choices and refine our life goals.
Seeds for the Future II is inspired by the first such 30-day event held in Australia in early 2005. So powerful was this initial Seeds for the Future in catalyzing a collective sense of purpose and enduring community amongst its "seedlings," that its North American participants are committed to offering such an event on this continent as well.
